Good Scout Award Luncheon Supports Scouting in Our Community

The 2019 Dan Beard Council Good Scout Award Luncheon honored Laura Brunner, President and CEO of The Port and Ed Diller, Partner at Taft, Stettinius & Hollister.

 

More than 1,000 community leaders gathered in March for the annual Dan Beard Council Good Scout Award Luncheon.  This year’s honorees were Laura Brunner, President and CEO of The Port; and Ed Diller, Partner at Taft, Stettinius & Hollister.

 

Council Board Chair, Edgar L. Smith, Jr., Vice President Doug Bolton, event chair Ben Willingham and Council CEO Tom Dugger presented the honorees with a statue of Dan Beard, one of the founders of the Boy Scouts of America, in recognition of their support of local youth.

 

“Sweet” Lou Piniella, the Cincinnati Reds manager in 1990 who led the Reds to win the World Series Championship, was the guest speaker. He shared stories of his days coaching the Cincinnati Reds, leadership and life lessons.

 

The Dan Beard Council serves more than 30,000 boys and girls in Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky with a program of character development and leadership training.
