Prescription for Living with Hair Loss

A quick internet search reveals hair thinning and hair loss impacts men and women alike, although the statistics neglect to mention that people who suffer from this lose so much more than hair. Hair loss is an enormous emotional blow that negatively impacts quality of life.
“When you lose your hair you also feel like you’re losing a little part of yourself,” says Jeanne Sheldon, who watched this more 30 years ago when her mother and sister each battled cancer. Fast forward 15 years when Sheldon accompanied a close friend with cancer to Allusions to look at wigs.
“I never knew anything like Allusions existed. It wasn’t a one-size-fits-all approach as I had assumed,” she says. “I left that appointment wishing this could have been the experience my sister and mother had and recognized that it was a special opportunity to help people.” Six months later, Sheldon bought Allusions.
The staff at Allusions is uniquely qualified to offer solutions to those suffering hair loss because most have personal connections to it. They are a collaborative and compassionate team of nationally recognized hair loss restoration specialists who make deep connections with their vulnerable clientele.
“My story helps me embrace clients in a more personal way,” says Katie, a specialist at the salon who has suffered from alopecia areata since age 11. “I want people to know that they aren’t alone in their struggle and don’t have to live with hair loss. It’s hard to find good information, but there are solutions and we have them here.”
Through Allusions’ prescriptive approach, products are recommended based on lifestyle and preferences of their clients. There is a solution for everyone and every budget, from topical products, laser treatments, extensions, grafts, transplants or wigs.
“Because of our reputation, we have clients that come to us from all over the U.S., and we are recommended by dermatologists and doctors because they know we’ll give their patients a quality experience,” Sheldon says. “More than one of our clients has fooled their doctor into thinking chemotherapy hadn’t taken their hair yet.”
Sheldon and her staff are living their passion and people are taking notice. Scroll through more than 500 5-star client reviews. Clients are understandably happy about their renewed hair, but many more cite the positive impact the Allusions staff has made on their lives.
“I didn’t want to be superficial or vain about my hair, but a lack of confidence stood in the way of me being the best that I can be,” one client wrote. “I can give more back to the world when I’m confident and the help I got from Allusions put me back into my life.”
If thinning hair or hair loss keeps you from living life to its fullest, call Allusions for a complimentary consultation and get the help you need to reclaim your life.
