Making Wedding Dreams Come True

As college students Elizabeth and Michael worked together at Skeffington’s Formalwear. They dated for six years before Michael popped the question on January 18, 2014.

“We went to see ‘The Book of Mormon’ at the Aronoff,” says Elizabeth. “It was great, we had box seats and at the end of the show when everyone was up dancing he asked the people next to us to take a photo. I had no idea – when I turned around he was down on one knee and asked me to marry him!”

Elizabeth soon began planning her garden, brunch-themed wedding. For her floral arrangements Elizabeth worked with Teresa Messer of The Fig Tree Florist & Gifts.

“I have known Teresa since I was 7 years old, because they are the local florist. She’s done every flower-related event for my family – first communion, birthdays and prom,” says Elizabeth. “I was really excited to work with her for my wedding day.”

The Fig Tree Florist & Gifts created beautiful floral arrangements with shades of peach, light pink, yellow and cream for Elizabeth’s big day.

Elizabeth and Michael exchanged “I do’s” on May 24 in front of family and friends. The couple’s wedding day was filled with special moments from Michael’s cousins playing the cello and piano as Elizabeth walked down the aisle to the couple’s first dance to “You and Me” by Dave Matthews Band and Elizabeth’s memorable dance with her father.
