Leveling the Playing Field

Tanner McFall and Family

Anyone who has battled with an insurance company can tell you that sometimes it feels like they’re speaking another language. That’s where attorney Tanner McFall, owner of The McFall Firm, comes in.

McFall brings a diverse experience to the table when it comes to handling his cases. While in law school, he worked for Judge Patrick Dinkelacker in the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas, handling the day-to-day operation of the judge’s civil docket. After graduation, he began his career as an assistant prosecutor for Hamilton County, where he gained valuable experience handling criminal cases at both the trial and appellate levels.  This experience helped McFall transition back to the civil side of the practice when he became one of GEICO’s trial attorneys for the Cincinnati/Dayton area. In 2014, McFall left GEICO to open The McFall Firm, where he almost exclusively handles personal injury cases and represents those seeking fair compensation from insurance companies for the harms and losses caused by negligent parties.

McFall’s unique experience on both sides of the courtroom helps him to work seamlessly with his clients to make the legal jargon and process as smooth and simple as possible.

“I am able to utilize my experience, having been in court for several years, to bridge the gap between someone who’s had an injury that’s very personal to them, and how to tell that [story] to an insurance company that’s approaching it as ‘strictly business.’ What I feel like we do really well is hold the insurance companies accountable to do what people pay them to do,” says McFall.

More than anything, McFall wants to help his clients get closure and return to their normal lives as much as possible.

“It’s figuring out how to tell your client’s story to an insurance company in a language they understand. It’s really personal to my clients – these injuries and the losses that they suffer. I represent people that have missed out on family activities or vacations, and they end up being a bystander in places where they would otherwise be fully engaged,” says McFall. “There is that divide there, and I get to step into that tension and try to find a balance between a very personal loss to a client and a business mindset to an insurance company. That’s where my practice is really unique.”
