Jaclyn Klare + J.D. Schmerge Wedding
Jaclyn and J.D. met in high school and reconnected after college. During a vacation at Lake Cumberland, they hit it off and began their time together.
J.D. knew that he wanted to pop the question on August 3, the anniversary of his Mimi and Papa. He created an elaborate setting under the guise of a normal Monday evening date. J.D. told Jaclyn that they were going to meet his family at the overlook in Devou Park after dinner for a toast to Mimi and Papa for their 58th anniversary, the first since Papa’s death. While waiting for J.D.’s family to arrive, he asked Jaclyn to marry him. That’s when she realized that the stranger standing in the rain was the photographer who captured the moment.
Faith, family and friends are the things the couple value the most. They knew they wanted a large church wedding and it turned out to be more than anything they could have imagined. The church was filled with family and friends who witnessed the Holy Sacrament of Matrimony.
J.D. and Jaclyn were married at St. Thomas Church in Fort Thomas, her childhood parish. The couple are now parishioners there.
