Cincinnatians with a Heart

This spring, a group of Cincinnatians with a heart for our city came together for a unique fundraising event to benefit CityLink Center.

Moving Pictures featured the red-carpet premiere of CityLink’s locally produced documentary film that followed the lives of three of our neighbors. The story unfolds as these people navigate the challenges of everyday life living below the poverty line and highlight the grit, determination and perseverance it takes to push towards real -life change. These young families’ stories weave an honest and raw picture of the obstacles they face and the hope they’ve found through a network of resources and personalized support at CityLink Center.

The private showing, which was held at Envision Cinemas Bar and Grill in Blue Ash, was sponsored by Northwestern Mutual Beshear Financial. “Beshear Financial is proud to support CityLink in its mission to help individuals break free from poverty and get to a place of self-sustainability and hope,” says Ben Beshear, managing director.

CityLink simplifies and supports people who are trying to raise themselves out of poverty. It brings together some of the city’s best social services in a powerful new context. By providing dozens of services under one roof, CityLink eliminates the complexities facing the working poor and unemployed in order to help them reach their full potential.

Clients, like those featured in the film, engage at CityLink to advance their employment, education and financial literacy while getting help with barrier removal support through transportation, clinical counseling, health and wellness, parenting classes, childcare, material assistance, spiritual growth and more. Together we can realize a better life for our neighbors and our community and we are grateful for the generous support of our community to make the work possible.
